After a tumultuous few weeks, the Princess of Wales is back to work and will no doubt be bolstered by the success of her recent projects which include her third annual Together at Christmas carol concert and taking her three young children to volunteer at a Windsor baby bank.

This decision to turn her attention to work in the face of public scrutiny has been very much in-keeping with Kate's approach since she joined the Royal Family back in 2011, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond pointed out.

Speaking exclusively to OK!, Jennie explained how this is laying the groundwork for the Princess to be the ultimate Queen-in-Waiting.

"We’ve all got used to Kate being the model of discretion and dignity, no matter what life throws at her," Jennie told us.

"Remember how well she conducted herself when William broke off their relationship before they married? How dignified she was when a French magazine published pictures of her sun- bathing topless. She simply carried on, head held high…and sued the publisher.

"And now, in the face of worldwide publicity about allegations that she was one of the royals who had conversations about the possible skin tone of Meghan’s unborn child, we see her out and about, focussing on her work — looking proud and unconcerned.

"Beneath it all, she must be hurt and angry at this attempt to sully her name and reputation. But she is refusing to let it show or get her down.

"Catherine faces a lifetime of public scrutiny and, with the vitriol of social media, it’s all a whole lot worse than it was in the past.

"Wisely, she has shown that the only way to deal with it and to protect her own mental health is to ignore the allegations and criticisms and to carry on winning over people’s hearts by forging ahead with her campaigns and good causes. It’s a great attribute in a future Queen."

Jennie's comments come after a sweet new video was released showing the Princess of Wales taking Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to volunteer at a local baby bank.

The three youngsters helped pack gift packs of clothes and toys for other children less fortunate than them as part of the centre's Christmas Pyjama appeal.

Among several special moments in the video, five year old Prince Louis picked out a King Kong toy, exclaiming: "This is a big guy."

Another sweet moment in the video shows Charlotte giggling with her mum as they find a Babygro that features a Welsh flag.

The video then ends with the children and their mum carrying the gift bags ready for them to be donated to families and the message: "Thank you to everyone who so generously supports Baby Banks across the country."

Kate has previously been seen helping out at Windsor's Baby Bank, which was set up by two local mums to support parents of young children. The charity has already helped 24,000 families in the Berkshire and Buckinghamshire areas since it was founded in 2015.
