and I had to leave on Saturday to go get married!<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <strong> READ MORE: <\/strong> <strong>The Chase\u2019s Paul Sinha left comedian Maisie Adam &#8216;mortified&#8217; after show blunder<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/79\/590x\/secondary\/Maisie-Adam-5071814.jpg?r=1700231011987\"><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe got married in Brighton and then the next day, at 10 O&#8217;clock in the morning, a car comes to take you to Old Trafford.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt was just such a surreal 48 hours because I got married and then was finding myself on a bus sat next to Nani (the Portuguese footballer) and across from Roberto Carlos and then on the other side there was Lee Mack.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI just thought, \u2018How have I ended up here?\u2019 If you\u2019d have told me as a little kid, \u2018You&#8217;ll be doing your dream job and the day after your wedding, you&#8217;ll be sat next to one of your comedy heroes and two footballing legends ready to go and play at Old Trafford\u2026\u2019 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt was really one of those strange sort experiences where you watch yourself from above,\u201d Maisie admitted. \u201cBut it was absolutely incredible. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI was with so many of my idols, like Jill Scott who was on the England team, and there was a moment during training where we were taking penalties together and I was like, \u2018This is mad, this is absolutely mad.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cSo, yeah, it\u2019s been a seriously strange but wonderful year,\u201d Maisie added happily.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <strong> Don&#8217;t miss&#8230; it was something that I grew up watching and I was always a big fan of it. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI had really wanted to do it, but for a long time they didn&#8217;t have\u2026 Well, they did have women playing, but they were all former professional footballers. And this year was the first time that they had [female celebrities]. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Maisie then went on to recall the moment she realised two of the most important days of her life were set to clash, revealing: \u201cI got the email asking if I&#8217;d like to be part of it and I was like, \u2018Oh my god, amazing. Yes, yes, yes\u2026 When?!\u2019 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThen I looked at the date in my diary and was like, \u2018It&#8217;s the day after my wedding. Oh God.\u2019 In that moment I just thought, \u2018Oh god, why is it that these two incredible days have come straight after each other?\u2019 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>However, luckily Maisie has an incredibly supportive husband, who was thrilled that she was given such an amazing opportunity. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI told my husband that I&#8217;ve been offered Soccer Aid and he was so chuffed for me because he knew how much it meant to me,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAnd I told him, \u2018But it&#8217;s the day after our wedding\u2019 &#8211; and this is when you know you&#8217;re marrying the right person. \u201cHe was like, \u2018Incredible! What a weekend! Let\u2019s go!\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt was strange as a Leeds fan to have honeymooned at Old Trafford,\u201d she quipped, \u201cBut it was amazing and he went full WAG. He came up with me the next day to Manchester, and was watching from hospitality with two of his groomsmen &#8211; I think still in their suits, actually. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt was great for him because he just sort of carried on &#8211; bit of hair of the dog,\u201d Maisie added. \u201cWhereas I had to try and play football with some of the world&#8217;s greatest athletes &#8211; so not exactly the hangover cure you have in mind for the day after your wedding!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Elsewhere in the interview, Maisie spoke about teaming up with KAYAK to conduct interviews at an airport to find out passengers\u2019 biggest gripes with plane travel, admitting that it is \u201ceasy to get quite miffed\u201d as a frequent flyer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Maisie has partnered with travel search engine KAYAK to look at the nation\u2019s opinions on travel etiquette.
