Moment on-the-run Emu called Rodney wanders up to front door after escaping from his home in Kent village<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Curious creature walked up a neighbour&#8217;s driveway and stood on welcome mat\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A pet emu went on the run after escaping from his home in a village called Loose.<\/p>\n<p>The emu, named Rodney, went noseying around in a neighbour&#8217;s driveway and even walked up to their front door only to be captured on doorbell footage.<\/p>\n<p>Police were alerted to the bird&#8217;s escape in the Kent village near Maidstone around midday on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Maureen Roberts, 81, said she received a ring doorbell notification that someone was at the door while out at lunch with her daughter.<\/p>\n<p>Her neighbour then phoned to say that an escaped emu had wandered up to the doorway.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/12\/10\/77701577-12739695-A_pet_emu_went_on_the_run_after_escaping_from_his_home_in_a_vill-a-37_1699783587255.jpg\" height=\"383\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>A pet emu went on the run after escaping from his home in a village called Loose<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/12\/09\/77701737-12739695-image-a-17_1699780156231.jpg\" height=\"813\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The emu, named Rodney, entered a neighbour&#8217;s driveway and walked up to their door<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/12\/09\/77701581-12739695-image-a-7_1699779837392.jpg\" height=\"381\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Video footage showed the curious creature entering the porch before standing on the welcome mat<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/12\/09\/77701715-12739695-image-m-9_1699779865800.jpg\" height=\"801\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Another clip showed two men and a boy chasing the bird as it walked into the driveway\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/12\/09\/77701725-12739695-They_then_grabbed_onto_the_animal_and_escorted_it_off_the_proper-m-11_1699779942259.jpg\" height=\"861\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>They then grabbed onto the animal and escorted it off the property<\/p>\n<p>She said:\u00a0 &#8216;I thought she was winding me up and I laughed it off.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;But it turned out she wasn&#8217;t joking!<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I couldn&#8217;t believe it when I saw it on the camera. It came right up to the front door.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;My dog was at home in the front room at the time.
