The ICRC convoy then accompanied six ambulances with critically wounded patients to the Rafah crossing from Gaza to Egypt, the group said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are not the conditions under which humanitarian personnel can work,\u201d said William Schomburg, head of the ICRC sub-delegation in Gaza. \u201cEnsuring that vital aid can reach medical facilities is a legal obligation under international humanitarian law.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Death toll still rising after a month of combat<\/h2>\n<p>Israeli troops have been battling Palestinian militants inside Gaza for over a week, and have succeeded in cutting the territory in half and encircling Gaza City. Food, medicine, fuel and water are running low, and United Nations-run schools-turned-shelters are overflowing.<\/p>\n<p>The Palestinian death toll has surpassed 10,300, two-thirds of them women and minors, according to the Health Ministry of the Hamas-run Gaza Strip. More than 2300 people are missing and believed to be buried under the rubble of destroyed buildings, the ministry said. Israelis observed a moment of silence on Tuesday in memory of the victims. The 30th day is a milestone in Jewish mourning, and memorial events are planned in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.<\/p>\n<p>The military says 30 Israeli troops have been killed in Gaza since the ground offensive began.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AP<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Netanyahu says Israel will take control of Gaza indefinitely<\/h2>\n<p>Israel will take \u201coverall security responsibility\u201d in Gaza indefinitely after its war with Hamas, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, the clearest indication yet that Israel plans to maintain control there after a month of a conflict that has claimed thousands of lives and levelled swaths of the territory.<\/p>\n<p>Netanyahu expressed openness to \u201clittle pauses\u201d in the fighting to facilitate delivery of aid to Gaza or the release of some of the more than 240 hostages seized by Hamas in its October 7 attack into Israel that triggered the war, in an interview with America\u2019s ABC News.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/static.ffx.io\/images\/$zoom_0.126%2C$multiply_0.7725%2C$ratio_1.5%2C$width_756%2C$x_0%2C$y_0\/t_crop_custom\/q_86%2Cf_auto\/ea9635b48f7eefdb62315ec9c1c573c35df1e044\" height=\"390\" width=\"584\"><\/p>\n<p><span>Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.<\/span><cite class=\"ojLwA\"><span>Credit: <\/span>AP<\/cite><\/p>\n<p>He ruled out any general ceasefire without the release of all the hostages. The White House said there was no agreement on US President Joe Biden\u2019s call for a broader humanitarian pause after a phone call between the leaders.<\/p>\n<p>The war has already come at a staggering cost, and Israel unleashed another wave of strikes across the territory overnight.
