All of this was because I wasn&#8217;t looking after myself. I wasn&#8217;t eating the right foods, I wasn&#8217;t sleeping and I was going through the menopause.<\/p>\n<p>I knew I had to make changes &#8211; for my health and my vanity &#8211; and after a long period of awfulness, I learned the value of asking for help, something I&#8217;d refused to do, determined to keep a brave face.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/22\/20\/76866891-12659359-image-a-2_1698001904520.jpg\" height=\"922\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Anthea Turner attends the We Will Rock You Gala Performance at The Coliseum theatre on June 7<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/22\/20\/76866885-12659359-image-a-3_1698001908534.jpg\" height=\"951\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>My bathroom cabinet was once overflowing, but I simplified the contents after filming SAS: Who Dares Wins in Scotland (pictured)<\/p>\n<p>I went to see a therapist, who was fantastic. I also got my HRT sorted and cleaned up my diet.<\/p>\n<p>Achieving good health isn&#8217;t just about what you eat, but balance. I keep my diet simple: I see crisps as a treat and I&#8217;ve also curtailed my chocolate addiction by swapping milk chocolate for organic dark chocolate.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve knocked sugar out of my tea, say no to puddings and although I love wine, stick to red and tell myself those polyphenols are good for me! I enjoy the feeling of consuming good-quality, nutritious food.<\/p>\n<p>Staying fit doesn&#8217;t have to be complicated either. I belong to a gym but at my home in West London I&#8217;ve also got some free weights and when I take my dog for walks, I wear a weight vest and strap 2kg weights around my ankles.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re told our faces will fall apart if we don&#8217;t invest in an expensive cream.
