Over the years the popular This Morning host has spoken honestly about her weight loss journey and how she has shed the pounds.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
A tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty, is\u00a0a surgical procedure performed to improve the shape of the tummy area.<\/p>\n
Surgeons can remove excess loose skin, fat and stretch marks as well as tighten the stomach muscles.<\/p>\n
The aim is to remove excess skin that can't be removed through exercise, the NHS states.<\/p>\n
There are a number of reasons people opt for this procedure including.<\/p>\n
Josie Gibson revealed she had a tummy tuck in 2016 – to remove 6lbs and 13 inches of loose skin.<\/p>\n The TV personality told New! magazine at the time: \u201cI woke up and I looked down and could just see flatness. <\/p>\n "I was like, \u2018Whoa! I can see my v*gina in full vision!'\u201d<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Josie added: \u201cI\u2019ve had 6lbs of skin cut away! But I\u2019m probably several pounds heavier than I was because I\u2019ve not done any exercise.<\/p>\n \u201cI was 10st 10lbs before the operation and now I\u2019m 11st 5lb. And I reckon I am a big size 12.\u201d<\/p>\n As you can see from the photos above, Josie was left with a lot of excess skin around her stomach following a dramatic weight loss.<\/p>\n The after image shows a flat, hourglass-shaped, youthful tummy with a neat low scar.<\/p>\n The price depends on many factors including which kind of tummy tuck you have, the surgeon you use, and the provider you go for. <\/p>\n Most places offer a range of different tummy tuck procedures from a mini tummy tuck right through to a circumferential\u00a0tummy tuck.<\/p>\n This is where the surgeon uses a longer incision to remove excess skin from the lower tummy while lifting the butt, hips, and thighs.<\/p>\n For the most basic tummy tuck, prices start around \u00a37,000 for a private clinic, <\/strong>but for the more procedures that are customised, they can cost upwards of \u00a314,500. <\/p>\n A mini tummy tuck is similar to a full tummy tuck, but it's just performed on a patient with less fat and skin to remove.<\/p>\n It removes excess fat and skin in the lower abdomen, below the tummy button.<\/p>\n Whereas a full tummy tuck tightens the entire abdomen.<\/p>\n A standard tummy tuck will leave a scar, however, it is usually hidden in the underwear line.<\/p>\n They will gradually fade and flatten six months to a year after surgery – depending on how your skin heals.<\/p>\n While there are things you can do to minimise scarring, you must accept the likelihood that the scars will never completely disappear. <\/p>\n In short, you cannot get a tummy tuck with the NHS.<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/newspress-collage-23577226-1692622266630.jpg\")
