"We turned this IKEA crib into a toddler bed in 60 seconds," she began the TikTok video.

"We simply cut five of the railings off and that's it!"

Doing that meant that her daughter was able to use the newly-widened entry point to get both in and out of her bed.

And her delight at the transformation was clear to see, as she grinned and said: "I love it mum!"

Paula added that they'd decided to try out the hack because they don't have time to mess around with flat pack furniture.

"Because WHO has time to disassemble and reasseble ikea furniture!" she wrote in the caption.

"The main reason we chose to remove a few rails was to prevent our toddlers from falling out of bed."

People weighed in on the makeover in the comments section, with one writing: "I have the same crib for both my boys and we love it but I thought the idea of moving him to a toddler bed is him having more space to sleep."

"That can be part of it, but the main idea is that they can get into and out of bed themselves," another added.

"We went from crib to double bed ! way easier to lay with them," someone else said.

To which Paula replied: "We tried! She didn’t like it and kept requesting for her crib back…or else it was our bed!"

"It’s a great idea! Gives a child some independence (if their room is safe)," another wrote.

"You can also just take out the front side. That's what we did," someone else suggested.

As Paula responded: "We didn’t want our little one falling off the fully open side so opted for this instead."

"Actually so smart," another added.

"Clever," someone else praised.

While another commented: "OMG that's genius!"

</picture>Epic fail
