A PROPERTY inspector has highlighted the shocking state of a newbuild – filming as its electric car charger falls off the wall.

The man took to TikTok to share the condition of what was said to be a completed newbuild, which he dubbed "shameful".

The inspector, who works for KB Inspections, said a customer had paid £100,000s for the new home – and he couldn't believe the state of it.

In the clip the man jokingly reenacted what would have happened when the new homeowner was handed the keys.

He points out the patchy grass, broken meter box, detached electric car charger and broken gate.

Walking from the front garden, along the side of the house, and to the back yard, the man says: "OK sir, so don't worry about your landscaping and plot works here, that'll be finished as soon as we can.

"Here's your meter box here sir – yeah we'll get that door fixed for you there sir, don't worry about that.

"Here's your car charger here look – oops there you go, don't worry about that, we'll get that fixed for you.

"Come and have a look in your garden. Don't worry about that gate not opening sir, we'll get that sorted for you."

The inspector finishes by saying: "There you go – there's your new home you've paid 100s of thousands of pounds for and that's the first impression you're getting."

It's sadly not uncommon for newbuilds to not be handed over in the best condition.

The Sun recently spoke to people living in what's been dubbed the country's newbuild capital.

There, residents revealed they'd paid £275,000 for their homes, but their ceilings leaked and their gardens were in a total state.

Others said their walls wobbled and the estate is still far from finished.

Elsewhere, people said they can't sleep and hadn't been able to open their windows for a year.

All new build homes come with some form of warranty.

Most often, this is a builder warranty of around 10 years, against structural issues, and a shorter developer warranty against issues with fixtures and fittings.

Registered builders are bound by a Consumer Code, which sets out quality standards.

If the house is not complete at the time it was promised, the customer can cancel the purchase, with a full refund of any deposit or reservation fee.

Complaints can be resolved privately with builders/developers in the first instance.

However, if you are not satisfied, there is an independent dispute scheme that can be used within the first three months of receiving the final response to the complaint from the builders.

</picture>NIGHTMARE NEWBUILD
