{"id":142030,"date":"2023-10-05T09:03:26","date_gmt":"2023-10-05T09:03:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity-hub.com\/?p=142030"},"modified":"2023-10-05T09:03:26","modified_gmt":"2023-10-05T09:03:26","slug":"matthew-wolfenden-finishes-filming-emmerdale-after-17-years-in-emotional-ending","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity-hub.com\/tv-movies\/matthew-wolfenden-finishes-filming-emmerdale-after-17-years-in-emotional-ending\/","title":{"rendered":"Matthew Wolfenden finishes filming Emmerdale after 17 years in emotional ending"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/SEI_168178808-e70d.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Matthew Wolfenden has played the cheeky David Metcalfe in Emmerdale for 17 years, but his time on the show is soon going to come an end as he has revealed that he only has two days of filming left.<\/p>\n<p>Taking to Instagram, Matt shared the poster for his next project \u2013 Elf the Musical \u2013 and revealed that he will be swapping the Dales for the stage in a matter of days.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It\u2019s all getting very real!\u2019 He wrote beside the poster. \u20182 days left at Emmerdale \u2013 4 days until we start rehearsals for this amazing show!\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Matthew is set to play Buddy the Elf in the newest revival of the musical, based on the 2003 film starring Will Ferrell.<\/p>\n<p>To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a webbrowser thatsupports HTML5video<\/p>\n<p>However, his Emmerdale character will remain on screen for a few more weeks, and there will be plenty of drama to come before he departs.<\/p>\n<p>Viewers have recently seen David\u2019s son Jacob (Joe Warren-Plant) grow close to his ex, Victoria (Isabel Hodgins), with the pair very nearly sharing a kiss before being interrupted by David himself.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/themes\/metro-parent\/img\/fallback.png\"><\/p>\n<p>When Metro.co.uk caught up with Matt at the CUREUsher ball, he couldn\u2019t give too much away regarding his exit, but he did tease that it would be related to the budding relationship between his son and ex.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018That relationship with Jacob and Victoria is a huge reason why David eventually leaves the village,\u2019 he told us.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018There is going to be a few tears and a few fights, and that\u2019s all I can say!\u2019<\/p>\n<p>He also made it clear that David doesn\u2019t leave the village in a hearse, so there is still the possibility for him to return in the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018What I can say is I\u2019m not dying, which is a good thing!
