Sally Nugent was forced to “move along” a BBC Breakfast interview after a stranger interrupted a live broadcast to yell “Slash the TV licence fee you greedy-” before being cut off.<\/p>\n
Peter Ruddick joined Sally and co-host Jon Kay to talk about the HS2 from Manchester, which is reportedly set to be scrapped.<\/p>\n
However, seconds into the chat, which was taking place outside Manchester Piccadilly Station, a passer-by interrupted the segment.<\/p>\n
“Passengers here are fairly used to uncertainty these days,” Peter began.<\/p>\n
He continued: “There has been in recent days a palpable sense of a lack of surprise around these reports.<\/p>\n

We’re going to talk about HS2 quite a lot this morning.”<\/p>\n It didn’t take long for viewers to take to social media to comment on the awkward moment.<\/p>\n Twitter user @misterpie penned: “Most sensible thing said on TV this morning ‘scrap the TV licence fee’ #BBCBreakfast.” (sic)<\/p>\n @feesaysrelax wrote: “Absolutely dead at the man who was screaming about the TV Licence on #BBCBreakfast just now.”<\/p>\n @ForestDMorgan added: “Been a while since they\u2019ve had that on the Beeb! #BBCBreakfast.”<\/p>\n “Hahaha ‘slash the license fee ya greedy…’ @DannyDenayTV shared.<\/p>\n @helenbright1ho1 commented: “Made my morning,” while another simply wrote: “Oh dear!”<\/p>\n Later, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak joined Sally and Jon and said he “hadn’t given up” on HS2, however, he refused to confirm or deny reports of the project being scrapped.<\/p>\n
