AEROSMITH fans have been preparing to bid the band goodbye during their final concert series.<\/strong><\/p>\n

However, lead singer Steven Tyler has suffered some health setbacks that have postponed the group's Peace Out: The Farewell Tour.<\/p>\n

What happened to Aerosmith's Steven Tyler?<\/h2>\n

On September 11, 2023, Steven Tyler announced he was suffering from vocal cord damage he sustained from performing during the previous weekend.<\/p>\n

As a result, Aerosmith had to postpone and reschedule their September tour dates.<\/p>\n

Six of their dates for Peace Out: The Farewell Tour have been rescheduled for January and February 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor\u2019s orders not to sing for the next thirty days," Steven said in a statement.<\/p>\n

"I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday\u2019s show that led to subsequent bleeding. <\/p>\n

"We\u2019ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve."<\/p>\n

Previously, the band experienced a setback with their Las Vegas residency when Steven relapsed after his foot surgery and had to seek treatment.<\/p>\n

On May 24, 2022, Aerosmith said on Twitter: "As many of you know, our beloved brother Steven has worked on his sobriety for many years.<\/p>\n

"After foot surgery to prepare for the stage and the necessity of pain management during the process, he has recently relapsed and voluntarily entered a treatment program to concentrate on his health and recovery.<\/p>\n

"We are devastated that we have inconvenienced so many of you, especially our most loyal fans who often travel great distances to experience our shows."<\/p>\n

The legendary rock group also thanked fans for their support of the band and Steven at this time.<\/p>\n

Did Aerosmith cancel their Peace Out Tour?<\/h2>\n

On September\u00a02,\u00a02023, Aerosmith's farewell tour kicked off in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

Their final concert together is scheduled for February 29, 2024, in Cleveland.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Following Steven's rehabilitation and absence from the band, Aerosmith canceled the June and July dates of their Deuces Are Wild concert series that were a part of their 2022 Las Vegas residency.<\/p>\n

Toward the end of the same year, the group canceled the last four shows of the residency.<\/p>\n

"On the advice of doctors, Steven has to sit these out," Aerosmith revealed via social media.<\/p>\n

Steven added: "I\u2019m taking more time to rest. There is nowhere we\u2019d rather be than on stage surrounded by the greatest fans in the world."<\/p>\n

On May 1, 2023, Aerosmith announced they would be retiring as a band. <\/p>\n

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry said he believes "it's about time" to retire as the founding band members continue to grow in age. <\/p>\n

Perry said: "I think it's about time. It's kind of a chance to celebrate the 50 years we\u2019ve been out here.<\/p>\n

"You never know how much longer everybody\u2019s going to be healthy to do this.\u2026 It\u2019s been a while since we\u2019ve actually done a real tour.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"We did that run in Vegas, which was great. It was fun, but [we\u2019re] kind of anxious to get back on the road."<\/p>\n

In a statement released to The Associated Press, Steven teased fans to get ready for an unforgettable final tour. <\/p>\n

"We\u2019re opening up Pandora\u2019s Box one last time to present our fans with the Peace Out tour," he said.<\/p>\n

"Be there or beware as we bring all the toys out of the attic. Get ready."<\/p>\n

Who is Steven Tyler?<\/h2>\n

Steven Tyler is the lead vocalist for the rock group Aerosmith.<\/p>\n

Tyler was born on March 26, 1948, in New York.<\/p>\n

He also plays the piano for the rock group which has been around since 1970.<\/p>\n

Tyler is a father to Liv Tyler, Mia Tyler, Chelsea Tyler, and Taj Monroe Tallarico.<\/p>\n

In 2019 Tyler celebrated nine years of sobriety and spoke to GQ magazine about his journey.<\/p>\n

"I was a beautiful little boy who lived in the woods of New England, New Hampshire.<\/p>\n

"So I grew up in the woods listening to the wind. It was just silence and Mother Nature, no one around \u2013 it was an awful lot of magic there.<\/p>\n

"When I started smoking weed, in '65, '66, it kind of enhanced those magic feelings."<\/p>\n
