RYLAN Clark makes a thinly veiled dig at Phillip Schofield about his approach to fame.<\/p>\n

The presenter, who was thrust into the spotlight after appearing on the X Factor in 2012, has kept tight-lipped about Phillip's departure from ITV.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The TV veteran stepped down from his 20-year position on This Morning's sofa after it was revealed that he'd had an affair with a "much younger" staff member.<\/p>\n

Speaking to The Telegraph, Rylan said he has one rule when it comes to working in showbiz: "The only time I get involved with something like that is when my name is involved."<\/p>\n

His motto is simple: "Work hard, be decent to everybody and be nice to everyone on the way up, because everyone has a fall." <\/p>\n

Shortly after the news about Phillip broke, which he'd previously denied, a large number of This Morning staff raised claims of "toxic working cultures"<\/p>\n

Phillip said that he was "deeply sorry" for the affair, which he said was "unwise but not illegal".<\/p>\n

The 61-year-old's replacement hasn't been chosen yet, with the MailOnline revealing that a decision wouldn't be made this year. <\/p>\n

Instead, Holly Willoughby has been joined by a roster of presenters including Alison Hammond, Josie Gibson, Dermot O'Leary and Craig O'Doyle.<\/p>\n

Fans suspected that Rylan would be the new permanent fixture after he posted a cryptic post just minutes after the news that Phillip was leaving the show.<\/p>\n

He shared a selfie of him beaming and making a peace sign with his fingers.<\/p>\n

Rylan was forced to pull out of his Radio2 show after his mum Linda suffered a fall while the pair were in Marbella earlier this week. <\/p>\n

He then told fans\u00a0she needed surgery\u00a0following the mishap and has now given a positive update on progress.<\/p>\n

In his latest\u00a0Instagram\u00a0post, Rylan bore good news as he shared some photos of his mum being wheeled onto a private jet via stretcher.<\/p>\n

The former\u00a0X Factor\u00a0finalist wrote in his caption, "She might have broke an arm and a leg but she\u2019s cost me an arm and a leg!<\/p>\n

"LINDAS COMING HOME!! Massive thank you to the amazing team and surgeons at @helicopterossanitarios. Thanks for looking after my mum x."<\/p>\n

He added in a comment, "And yes she\u2019s still getting her driveway x."<\/p>\n

Earlier in the week, he described\u00a0Celebrity\u00a0Gogglebox\u00a0star Linda as\u00a0"not in the best of\u00a0health"\u00a0and said her other conditions had complicated the matter.<\/p>\n

Sharing a picture of his mum's hand on\u00a0Instagram, he wrote: "Mum is out of surgery. All went well. Asked me if she can still have a new driveway\u2026. She\u2019s deffo come round. Thanks for all your lovely messages x."<\/p>\n
