Police searching for a woman who went missing on her way home from work have found a body in woodland.<\/p>\n
Gabriella Kosilko, 26, was last seen shopping for food and drink at a store on Fosse Road North in Leicester at 11.30pm on August 31.<\/p>\n
She was reported missing the next day after she failed to return home following her night shift.<\/p>\n
Officers today revealed they have found remains and believe them to be hers, though formal identification is yet to be completed.<\/p>\n
A man arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and murdering Ms Kosilko has also been found dead in his jail cell, the force said. It is believed the pair were known to each other.<\/p>\n
A mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) who have begun an independent investigation. The force will fully co-operate with this investigation.<\/p>\n

Police have cordoned off two areas of Leicestershire as part of its investigation into missing Gabriella Kosilko<\/p>\n
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Sinski from East Midlands Special Operations Unit Murder Investigation Team, said: ‘Our enquiries into the circumstances surrounding Gabriela’s death continue and anyone who may have any information is asked to get in touch.<\/p>\n
‘If you were driving along Newtown Linford Lane around 2.20pm on Friday (1 September) please check your dashcam footage and get in touch if you captured a red Audi A1 parked on the side of the road or saw anyone driving it or sitting in the vehicle.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘Equally, if you were in Ratby Lane area during Friday afternoon please get in touch if you saw the vehicle or anything which seemed unusual or caused you concern.<\/p>\n
‘We would also like to reassure the local community who have been affected by the events of the last few days that officers will remain in the area while further enquiries are conducted.’<\/p>\n
