MANCHESTER UNITED hero Mark Pearson has died aged 83.<\/p>\n
The attacker rose through the club's youth ranks and played an important part in the club's re-build following the Munich air disaster.<\/p>\n

Manchester United tweeted a touching tribute that read: "Sending our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of former Red Mark Pearson, who represented United in the late 1950s and 1960s. <\/p>\n
"He will always hold a special place in the hearts of those at the club."<\/p>\n
Their statement continued: "His part in a unique chapter in Manchester United\u2019s history is indelible, and everyone at the club would like to pass on sincere condolences to Mark\u2019s family at this sad time."<\/p>\n
Fans were also left saddened by the news, one said: "RIP to the legend."<\/p>\n

Another added: "Remembering the legacy of Mark Pearson. Our condolences go out to his family and friends during this difficult time."<\/p>\n
A third wrote: "He will always be in our hearts."<\/p>\n
Pearson was a versatile player that was pushed into the Man Utd team following the Munich air disaster, starting the emotional first game back versus Sheffield Wednesday in 1958.<\/p>\n
The then 18-year-old and fellow debutant Ronnie Cope put in special performances and The Times wrote: "They left us rubbing our eyes in astonishment. <\/p>\n
