AN ITV talk show with a beloved celebrity host is hanging in the balance after a scheduling clash.

Comedian John Bishop's Saturday night chat show is not expected to return to its usual slot next year.

It comes amid a busy schedule for John, 56, which TV Zone reports is the reason behind the delay.

As such ITV have not yet given the green light for a third series of The John Bishop Show.

The show last aired in 2022 for a regular series and an end of year special.

Celebs who have already appeared on funnyman John's show include James Nesbitt, Oti Mabuse, Michelle Keegan and Maya Jama.

The Sun contacted ITV who did not comment on the reports.

Earlier this year John revealed he was experiencing "pain like no other" after a family tragedy.

He announced his mum Kathy had sadly passed away this week in a heartfelt Instagram post.

The star told how his mum had been singing along during his performances of theatre show Mother Goose just weeks before.
