Victoria records two new coronavirus cases
19th October 2020

Victoria has recorded just two new cases of coronavirus in the past day.

The state's 14-day average is now 6.9 and there are 13 cases from an unknown source.

Meanwhile, the Victorian government is considering using electronic monitoring devices for some returned travellers when the state opens up to international flights for the first time since early July.

A senior Health Department source told The Age that secret talks were under way at the highest levels of the Victorian government, and a government spokeswoman confirmed that the Justice Department and the Health Department were both assessing the merits of GPS-enabled electronic wristband tracking devices for some international travellers to make sure they were isolating at home.
