6th August 2023

BRITS will enjoy sunshine after Storm Antoni's weekend wash out – but it won't last for long.

The Met Office said that today will bring sunny spells and scattered showers across the UK – with lighter and warmer winds than yesterday.

After the showers ease this evening it will be largely dry and clear overnight – with only a few spots of rain in the north west.

Forecaster Rachel Ayers said: "There will be a brighter, calmer and drier start to the second half of the weekend.

"We'll see the remnants of the Storm Antoni still just clinging on to the far east for a time on Sunday.

"But that will soon clear away clearing those blustery conditions with it – leaving a day of sunshine and showers."

London, the south coast and parts of the East Midlands will see the most sun today, before the whole country enjoys bright spells tomorrow.

But Tuesday will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, although the mercury will stay around the 16C mark in most places.
