Two men and a woman are facing human trafficking and drug-related charges after police say they allegedly forced a 15-year-old girl to take drugs and perform sexual acts earlier this month.

Durham Regional Police say on Feb. 7, the girl got into a fight with her family and called an acquaintance to take her to the home of another acquaintance.

Police say while at the home, the girl was allegedly forced to take drugs and perform sexual acts. The girl called a friend to pick her up and police were contacted.

The DRPS Human Trafficking Unit launched an investigation which led to the search of a home in the area of Courtice Road and Highway 2 in Clarington on Thursday. Three people were arrested and police say drugs were found.

Andrew Thorne, 20, of Bowmanville, Jaiden Lunau, 20, of Clarington, and Tylor Lunan, 25, also of Clarington, have each been charged with:

  • procuring a person under 18 years
  • material benefits from sexual services for a person under 18 years
  • permit a person under 18 on premises for a sexual act
  • two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine and benzodiazepines).
