A serial car thief got behind the wheel of a running car in Brooklyn and backed over two toddlers and two adults — sending them all to the hospital Friday night.

The 24-year-old suspect had been arrested for stealing a car in Brooklyn on Thursday, and had just been released from the court system when he went right back into his felonious ways — this time with devastating results, police said.

The suspect got into a running car on West 15 Street and Surf Avenue near Luna Park in Coney Island as a man was trying to put two toddlers into the vehicle around 10 p.m., according to the NYPD.

Instead of putting the car in drive, the careless crook backed up, slamming into two adult women and the two tots, police said.

One of the women is in critical condition at Lutheran Hospital, and the other woman and the children are in serious but stable condition at Coney Island Hospital, police said.

The unidentified suspect is under arrest, and back in the criminal court system with charges pending, according to cops.
