Rugby star Jack Maunder releases children's book to help kids 'bounce back' during lockdown

RUGBY Union star Jack Maunder has released a children’s book to help young kids “bounce back” during lockdown.

The Exeter Chiefs scrum-half, 23, teamed up with EYFSHome to create ‘Bounce Back Jack’ – an uplifting story for children stuck at home this winter.

The story aims to motivate children, families and carers to be resilient and “try, try again”, and follows Jack's dream of being a professional rugby player.

Today the Aviva Premiership star launched the book alongside children's author Sarah Griffiths with a takeover day on EYFS Home.

Jack and fellow rugby stars Ben Moon, Jack Yeandle, Jack Nowell and Henry Slade will read the book, and Jack will lead video activities for children and their parents and carers to take part in – including ball skills, fitness and yoga.

The rugby ace will also be taking part in an interactive session with a Reception class at Blundell’s School – which he attended as a boy.

The content is also being shared to over 180,000 parents by leading nursery software provider Connect Childcare.

EYFSHome provide free educational content for 3-5 year olds and, with the help of two government grants, have created over 600 activity videos and 150 story readings to support families with children under five.

They also provide advice videos for parents and a curriculum map to help plan remote learning.

All profits will go to Jack’s chosen charity, and you can purchase the book on Amazon here.
