Video shows the moment former President Donald Trump accidentally hit a child on the head with a baseball as fans asked for autographs during the World Series game in Atlanta last week.

TikTok user @loupastore 27 shared the just under a minute-and-half clip – which has racked up more than 80,000 likes on the platform and captioned it ‘I got Mr. Trump’s autographs at the World Series.’

The former president – who was sat next to wife Melania while watching the Atlanta Braves take on the Houston Astros – initially resisted calls to sign an autograph.

He eventually relented – only to accidentally bump the child with the ball while returning it, although the youngster wasn’t hurt.

And the accidental hit might come with a significant gain. According to TMZ, authentic Trump-signed baseballs sell up to $3,000.

In the video, a child with a green hat sitting beneath Trump’s booth can be seen trying to catch Trump’s attention by waving a baseball and a pen in his direction.

An adult yells ‘Come on, one [autograph], please,’ insisting Trump, who seemed slightly aware of the pleads, to sing the child’s baseball.

The child’s hat also falls but he quickly grabs it before it meets the floor. The small crowd seemingly dismisses the incident as they try to locate the baseball before the video ends

Trump then leans towards the glass railing in his open-air suite and the child tosses the ball, which nearly escapes Trump’s hands as people cheer in the background when he catches it.

Trump briefly talks to Melania, who is sitting to his right, and asks his team for a pen, despite fans on the bottom level yelling that they have one.

The former president says something inaudible to the crowd before he is given a pen and goes on to sign the baseball.

‘Thank you,’ someone says as fans cheer the game. Trump then tosses the baseball back but it inadvertently bounces on the head of another child to the floor.

Meanwhile, people in the comments section of the video did not seem to mind Trump’s carelessness and went on to praise the former president.

Last Saturday, Trump stood beside former first lady Melania, as they chopped away with fans before the game between the Atlanta Braves and Houston Astros from a private suite at Game 4 of the World Series.

Just months before, Trump had called for a boycott of Major League Baseball.

It was the first time Melania had been seen in public since July, when she was spotted leaving the Trump Tower in New York City with son Barron, and the first time she had been seen with her husband since April.

Trump released a statement in a mass email to his supporters Saturday about his planned World Series appearance:

‘Looking forward to being at the World Series in Atlanta tonight. Thank you to the Commissioner of Baseball Rob Manfred, and Randy Levine, president of the New York Yankees, for the invite. Melania and I are looking forward to a wonderful evening watching two great teams!’

MLB denied ever making the invitation and said in a statement, ‘He requested to attend the game.’

The couple were all smiles as they look on prior to Game Four of the World Series between the Houston Astros and the Atlanta Braves Truist Park

The visit to Truist Park provided Trump an opportunity to be seen with Walker, the former University of Georgia Heisman Trophy winner and running back with the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings and USFL New Jersey Generals.

Trump was an owner of the Generals when Walker played for the team in the now-defunct league, and they have maintained a relationship. Trump has encouraged Walker to run for Senate.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell endorsed Walker on Wednesday. Walker is seeking to unseat Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock.

Trump encouraged a boycott of MLB games after Manfred removed the All-Star Game from Atlanta. The game instead was held in Denver.

Trump may have selected Atlanta in hopes of a more positive reception than he received in his last World Series appearance. When still in office, he was booed when he sat in the stands at Game 5 of the 2019 World Series between the Astros and Washington at Nationals Park.

Trump was not shown on the Truist Park video board before the game however one moment that was caught on camera between former president Trump together with his wife Melania happened when the former first lady’s smile quickly drain away from her face.

It came just as the crowd had been cheering for the couple who even joined in the Braves signature ‘Tomahawk’ gesture prior to the start of the game.
