Lindsay man charged after allegedly cashing fradulent cheques, police say

A Lindsay man faces charges after police say he fraudulently cashed cheques.

City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service launched an investigation on Feb. 11 after receiving reports that a Lindsay man had allegedly obtained money by fraudulently cashing cheques.

The investigation led to the identity of a suspect and a warrant for his arrest.

On Wednesday, the suspect was located by members of the Criminal Investigation Branch.

Troy Sprague, 30, of Lindsay was arrested and charged with three counts of fraud under $5,000, along with two counts of failing to comply with the conditions of his probation order.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing in Lindsay court on Thursday.
