Kamala Harris is married to Douglas Emhoff.
The 55-year-old Emhoff was born in Brooklyn, New York, and moved to California as a teenager.
Like his wife, he is also a lawyer.
Emhoff is currently a California attorney and partner at the firm DLA Piper, where he works based out of Los Angeles and Washington, DC.
Emhoff and Harris were married in a Santa Barbara courthouse in August, 2014, when she was California’s Attorney General.
How many children does she have?
Emhoff and Harris have no children together, although he has two children, Cole and Ella, from a previous marriage.
According to Vogue, his son Cole is a graduate of Colorado College, while his younger daughter Ella studies at Parsons School of Design.
When is the Vice Presidential debate?
The first vice presidential debate is set to take place on October 7 at 9pm.
The showdown will be moderated by Susan Page, who is the Washington bureau chief of USA Today, and it will be streamed online on all major networks.
The debate will run for 90 minutes, completely commercial free and it will be divided into nine segments, with approximately 10 minutes for each section.
There is a significant format difference newly adopted by the Commission on Presidential Debates to ensure proper health measures are in place due to the coronavirus outbreak.
When is the presidential election?
Election day is on November 3.
The election is determined by the popular vote within the states and the electoral college; once votes are in, the president and vice president are announced that night or the following morning.
All votes must be in by that evening in order for them to count towards the election.
