HUNDREDS of passengers have been left in huge queues at Glasgow Airport today due to major security issues.

Images show hundreds of travellers stuck in long, winding queues as they try to get through security checks for their flights.

Passengers caught up in the queue chaos inside the terminal have told how police are checking their IDs and are "looking for someone".

Eyewitnesses claim that there are only two security belts open for the whole airport currently.

Passengers are being directed by the police and airport staff to join the queue.

Edinburgh, Glasgow, Prestwick, Inverness and Aberdeen Airport have all had security checks as part of the manhunt.

UK Border force have launched a UK-wide man hunt for a terror suspect across each individual airport, resulting in extra security checks taking place.

A nation-wide manhunt was launched for ex-soldier Daniel Abed Khalife, 21, after he fled prison this morning.

He has a military background and served previously in the Britisharmy

The lag is currently awaiting trial for terrorism offences.

It was alleged Khalife left three canisters with wires at MOD Stafford in January this year.

He is of slim build, has short brown hair and is around 6ft 2ins tall.

Khalife has links to the Kingston area with cops believing he is most likely still in London.

However, there are concerns he could have travelled further afield with major airports up and down the country being swooped in on.

Some passengers have missed their flights due to the ongoing security incident at the airport.

An onlooker told the Scottish Sun: "Police aren't telling us anything. But, the general chat is that they are looking for someone. The flights are going ahead. It's just stringent security checks at security first".
