TRAVEL chaos has affected commuters across the nation as heavy snow blanketed Britain overnight.

Train services have ground to a halt in many regions, impacting the Monday morning commutes of millions of workers.

The heavy overnight snowfall has also caused significant disruptions to motorways, cancelled flights, and led schools to shut their doors across the nation this morning.

The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings of ice, fog and snow for much of the UK, with some regions seeing persistent wintery weather throughout the day.

And there will be more to come – forecasters predict temperatures could plummet to -10C in the coming days.
