Family escapes, but dog killed in Thompson home invasion
6th March 2019

A dog was killed in a Thompson home invasion Monday afternoon.

RCMP said three men forced their way into a home on Ash Street around 1:05 p.m. after the homeowner refused to let them in.

The three occupants – two adults and a child – were able to escape through a back door and call police.

Cops found an injured dog in the back yard after the suspects had fled. The dog was taken to a veterinarian for urgent care, but died of its injuries.

Police are seeking a young man, around 6’0″ and 200 lbs, wearing a grey toque with a red stripe, a grey jacket and winter boots, as well as two other men dressed in dark clothing.

One of the men has a teardrop tattoo on his face.

Thompson RCMP and the Forensic Identification Unit are continuing their investigation, but are asking the public for help.

Anyone with information should call RCMP at 204-677-6909 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. You can also submit a secure tip online.
