DONALD Trump retweeted a UFC fighter's obscene comment calling him a "bad motherf***er" after he was heckled with a chorus of boos.

The President posted a video of Jorge Masvidal's pre-bout interview as he shrugged off the 18,000-strong crowd's hostile reception at New York's at Madison Square Garden.

Mr Trump waved to supporters despite loud boos ringing round the venue when he made an appearance at the blockbuster pay-per-view mixed martial arts event UFC 244.

And he followed it up by retweeting welterweight Masvidal's comment when he said: “No matter what your views on Trump as a president, the guy’s a bad motherf***er man.”

Mr Trump said alongside the video yesterday: "Great fight Champ!"

Masvidal defeated Nate Diaz in the bill-topping bout – and then vowed to "f*** up little dude" Conor McGregor next.

Mr Trump watched ringside after he was met with a mix of boos and cheers when he arrived with UFC boss Dana White and his sons Don Jr and Eric.

Some fans held up "Trump 2020 Keep America Great" signs but others made obscene gestures.

The President said yesterday: “Walking into Madison Square Garden last night with Dana White for the big UFC Championship fight was a little bit like walking into a Trump Rally.

"Plenty of MAGA & KAG present. Great energy. Fantastic job!”

Meanwhile his son Eric claimed reports of boos and jeers were "fake news".

He retweeted a BBC story and said: “What a joke. You are the most dishonest people.

"The audience was chanting ‘Donald Trump, Donald Trump’ followed by ‘USA USA.’ Dana White said it was the greatest entrance he has seen into a UFC.

"I can’t wait until we win again in 2020 to further embarras [sic] your profession #FakeNews.”

White, a long-time Trump ally, said of the crowd's reaction: “This is America, you can believe and do whatever you want.

“If you want to boo, you can boo.”

It comes days after baseball fans booed and chanted "lock him up" at Mr Trump when appeared on-screen at the World Series final between the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros.

TRUMP 'BOYCOTT'

The winning Nationals have been invited to the White House – but pitcher Sean Doolittle is boycotting the reception in another blow for the president.

He told told the Washington Post:  "As much as I wanted to be there with my teammates and share that experience, I can’t do it.

"It's a lot of things, policies that I disagree with, but at the end of the day it has more to do with the divisive rhetoric and the enabling of conspiracy theories and widening the divide in this country”.

Doolittle said his opposition to the president was based on “a lot of things, policies that I disagree with, but at the end of the day it has more to do with the divisive rhetoric and the enabling of conspiracy theories and widening the divide in this country”.

Trump has long been close to tycoon Dana White.

In 2001, Trump hosted a UFC battle at his now-defunct Taj Mahal hotel in Atlantic City.

And White, who has said he would "never say anything negative about Donald Trump," spoke at the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

Mr Trump also has a long association with wrestling.

In September we told how WWE bosses were desperate for him to return to the ring but he was "too busy".
