Hours after his wild appearance on “The View,” Donald Trump Jr. quipped in another TV interview, “I don’t think they like me anymore.”
President Trump’s eldest son joined “Hannity” on Thursday night to discuss his sit-down on the ABC show, where he defended his Twitter outing of the whistleblower who sparked the impeachment inquiry against his father, according to Fox News.
The first son, who was hawking his new book, told the co-hosts that the whistleblower’s name had appeared “on a little website called the Drudge Report.”
“I literally quote tweeted an article that had the guy’s name in the title of the article,” Trump Jr. said.
The interview quickly devolved into a heated shoutfest as Meghan McCain, daughter of the late Sen. John McCain, questioned Trump Jr. about his father’s lack of civility.
Asked by Sean Hannity why he “even bothered” appearing on “The View,” Trump said: “You know, every once in a while you got to try. You gotta try to speak to everyone. Hopefully they listen.”
He added: “I wish they would have shown a little bit of the same amount of outrage when my family opened up a white powder substance in an exploding envelope that showed up at my house.
“These guys are full of it, Sean,” he said from Birmingham, Alabama, where he had a live crowd behind him.
He also took a shot at former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter, both of whom the president asked his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, to investigate during a phone call that led to the whistleblower’s complaint.
“Hunter Biden is getting boards of companies and languages he can’t speak, in companies he knows nothing about,” Trump Jr. said. “Why are you there Hunter?”
“Well, I know why you’re there. I think everyone in America knows why you’re there,” Trump said to applause from the crowd.
