Citi Field to host 24/7 COVID-19 vaccination center
The New York Mets will play host to a new 24/7 vaccination hub now slated to be opened at Citi Field in Queens, Mayor Bill de Blasio and new Mets owner Steve Cohen announced Tuesday.
“It’s Amazin’ news, you might say,” said de Blasio in a pun-laced announcement during his Tuesday press conference, where Cohen also made an appearance. “The Mets organization has stepped up to the plate to help us out.”
Hizzoner said the new site — to be run by the city’s public hospital system — will be able to dispense as many 7,000 shots a day and is set to open during the last week of January.
