Shocking moment car tips onto bonnet of oncoming car after speeding round narrow bend on country lane

This is the shocking moment a car almost flips over after speeding round a narrow bend on a country lane.
Footage captured on a dash cam shows a motorist driving along a country lane between Trehan and Trematon in Cornwall on October 14 at around 2pm.
Karl Brackenbury, 56, who captured the footage, can be seen driving slowly as he passes people walking by the side of the road.

But as Mr Brackenbury nears a bend in the road, a red Kia car suddenly comes speeding round the corner.
The driver of the red car attempts to avoid a collision and swerves straight into the grass verge by the side of the road.

And as the driver brakes the car jolts forward and rolls onto the other vehicle and almost tips over before falling back to a halt.
Mr Brackenbury, railway test engineer, said: ‘I was travelling towards that corner and a young girl came round the corner seemingly going too fast.

‘I came to a stop and she avoided hitting me head on by taking action and driving up the roadside. She tipped over and rolled onto my car before rolling back to her wheels.
‘She damaged her front wheel and wing mirror.
‘I just thought “oh this is not good”. Watching back over the video I just think about how much I had managed to stop and she had not.

‘I measured the skid marks later and they were 24 foot before the 6-8 feet that she went up the verge.’
Fortunately both drivers did not sustain any injuries from the near collision.
Mr Brackenbury said: ‘Had it not have been for those people walking round the corner, or horse riders the whole situation could have been worse she could have tipped completely over or injured people or the horse.’
