An 11-year-old boy has had both his legs sliced off after falling under a goods train during an attempted ‘train surfing’ stunt in Russia.
Arkady Aksenov fell onto the track while riding on the moving freight carriages, leading to a collision which tore off his entire left leg and also severed his right leg lower down.
He survived thanks to the driver of a passing train, Bulat Zhakeev, who disobeyed rules to stop his train, give first aid and summon emergency services.
The boy’s mother Maria Petrova claims that two other boys who were with him, aged 12 and 14, ran away and ‘left him for dead’ after allegedly urging him to try the stunt to ‘become famous’ in a YouTube video.

Petrova, a yoga teacher, wrote a furious social media post addressed to the two boys who she claims bullied her son into the risky adventure.
‘They left him wounded, bleeding. They didn’t panic, but quietly left, through the bushes,’ she claimed.
‘They didn’t try to run towards people so that they could have been seen by the accident place.
‘They were certain that there were no CCTV cameras on the railway, which is true, and that Arkady would die and not say a word.
‘You little idiots! If you were to call help, you would have been heroes. Yes, people would have said that it was a pity you started it all, but they would have said well done to you not to have left your friend in that horrible hour.
‘You won’t be punished for what you’ve done. ‘By law, you won’t be punished because you are children and you are not subject to the law.
‘Your parents won’t be punished either, because there is no clause in the Criminal Code which sends you to jail for being a b***ard and for raising a b***ard.’
The older boy is an ‘experienced’ train surfer with his own YouTube Channel, it is claimed.
The mother has watched 58-minute footage of the boy – a keen martial arts fighter before the tragedy – lying by the track in minus 5C cold until the passing train driver stopped ‘to save my son’s life’.

The furious woman also attacked the parents of the boys, saying: ‘You didn’t even call me.’
She told them: ‘Live with it. ‘I wish that every night a bloodied boy without legs comes to your nightmares, stretching his arms towards you, and begging you to help.
‘His nails are broken off, his fingers are dirty because he was fighting the force of the train, holding himself on so that the train didn’t pull him under completely.’
The driver said he had noticed a ‘large dark spot’ at the side of the track, and initially thought it was snow before realising it was a person.
He thought at first it was a homeless man who had sought to cross the tracks.
But he said: ‘When I got closer, I realised it was a boy lying with his face down in the pool of his blood.
‘He said “Help. I’m cold”. What I saw as dark soil was his blood. To say I was shocked is to say nothing. This story needs to be heard as wide as possible.
‘Children simply don’t realise that a train even when it moves at slow speed creates a force that can pull them underneath.’

The mother made the case public after watching her son on a ventilator for two weeks.
‘It is a miracle he survived for so long,’ she said. ‘I still cannot believe he remained sane after what happened to him.
‘I didn’t even know about train surfing before this happened. The more I read about it now the more I feel mortified.’
Detectives working on his case liken the illegal activity to sickening ‘so-called death groups’ trying to push teens to suicide, she said.
‘I am going to fight this,’ she vowed. It’s beyond me why nothing is done to stop this.
‘Rails all around Russia are literally soaking in children’s blood, and no-one is trying to stop it.’
Doctors say he remains in a critical condition in hospital.
State transport investigators say they are probing the case, and a criminal case has been launched on violation of traffic safety rules.
