Body of missing boy, 2, ‘found in Spanish well he fell down’
16th January 2019

The body of missing two-year-old Julen Rosello has reportedly been found in the Spanish well he fell down three days ago.

Respected Spanish news website El Espanol said it had been spotted beneath a blockage around 240 ft down the 350ft borehole in Malaga.

Spanish authorities are yet to make an official announcement.

Earlier today authorities confirmed they found hair belonging to Julen in the well.

It was found on Sunday night but the find was only made public today following DNA tests.

A central government representative for the region earlier said: “A little bit of hair was found in the well and the tests that have been carried out show it’s the little boy’s.

“It gives us that a level of certainty that the boy is there, in that well.”

Today the family of Julen were pictured for the first time.

Parents Jose and Vicky, both 29, have spent day and night near the spot where Julen vanished.

His dad, recalling the moment he realised Julen had disappeared down the borehole as he prepared lunch with friends and relatives including a cousin, earlier told a Spanish TV programme: “I was putting some more wood on for the fire and ran towards him.

“My cousin was a bit nearer and threw herself on the ground as I reached the orifice.

“He had already gone. I heard him cry at first but then I didn’t hear him cry anymore.”

In an interview with Malaga-based paper Sur he added: “My wife went to phone into work to let them know she wasn’t going.

“She was with Julen and asked me to keep an eye on him as she made the call. He was only a few feet away.

“I went to get a couple of logs for the fire for the paella and he began to run.

“We saw how he fell down the hole, my cousin more than me because she was closer.”

A Swedish firm which helped locate the 33 Chilean miners rescued in 2010 after 69 days underground joined the massive operation to try to locate Julen.

Today work was continuing on the excavation of two new tunnels.
