A sudden inferno in a three-story residential building in Brooklyn erupted just before 11 p.m. Saturday, leaving five people injured, two of them critically.
Witnesses saw at least one child being resuscitated at the scene.
“I saw them performing CPR on a young person — definitely younger than 13,” said Andre Walunas, a graphic designer who lives on the top floor.
The fire, at 165 Schaeffer St. in Bushwick, spread suddenly, he told The Post.
“I heard fire alarms going off. So I opened my door and a cloud of smoke came pouring in,” said Walunas, 26.
“So I ran to my room and grabbed my laptop. I was about to try the fire escape, but I decided to take the stairs instead,” he said.
“Yeah, I was scared,” he added. “All that smoke.”
