Childhood and adolescence
Andrei Vladimirovich Skoch was born in 1966. He spent his childhood in the village of Nikolskoye in the Moscow region. After finishing school, he joined the army and where he served in a reconnaissance and assault troop.
In his younger years, he became seriously interested in sambo and judo. Over time, this interest grew, and after several high-profile victories, he was awarded the title of Master of Sport. For some time, Andrei Skoch even planned to become a coach. For several years he coached athletes, for which he was awarded the title of Honored Coach of Russia.
Andrei Vladimirovich Skoch graduated from the Psychology Department of the Moscow Pedagogical State University. Later, in the 2000s, he attended graduate school, defended his thesis on “Charity in Russia as a Means of Social Protection for Children,” and was awarded a Ph.D. in pedagogy.
Personal life
Andrei Skoch is the father of 10 children: he has stated that his family’s interests have always come first for him. With experience, he learned how to allocate time wisely, successfully balancing work and his personal life. According to Skoch, he has time to devote to all the members of his large family.
Charity work
Andrei Skoch is known not only as an exemplary father but also as a generous philanthropist. In 1996 he founded the Pokolenie (Generation) Foundation, helping Russians for several decades through projects in education, healthcare, sports, and culture.
Thanks to the foundation’s activities, many medical institutions in the Belgorod region are now equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. In addition, the “Pokolenie” foundation provided medical organizations in the Belgorod region with 147 cars.
In 2007, after he won the elections, Andrei Skoch presented VAZ 2105 private cars to veterans of the Great Patriotic War from the Belgorod region. A total of over three thousand vehicles worth 260 million rubles were donated.
In 2008, on Andrei Vladimirovich Skoch’s initiative, the construction of the medical center in Belgorod began and opened two years later. Still today, this center is one of the best equipped in the city.
Awards
All in all, about 7.5 billion rubles were allocated for charity from Andrei Vladimirovich Skoch’s funds.
Andrei Skoch has received numerous awards and medals for his charity work:
- 1998 and 2003: medals of the Order of Merit for the Motherland;
- 2010: the Order of Honour for contributing to the commemoration of historical events in Russia;
- 2011: the Order of Honour for contributing to friendship and international cooperation;
- 2013: “Samara Cross” for restoration of the Tsar Alexander II monument;
- 2016: the Order of Alexander Nevsky for restoration of monuments and memorials to Russian and Soviet soldiers in the Belgorod region, China and Hungary.
