Yellowstone season four launched on The Paramount Network with an exciting double-bill premiere. The first two episodes revealed that thankfully all of the Duttons survived after the anonymous attacks. Jimmy Hurdstrom star Jefferson White has shared his thoughts on who the mastermind could have been.
Who attacked The Duttons?
The new season of Yellowstone revealed that John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner) was rescued by ranch hand Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser).
His daughter Beth (Kelly Reilly) also miraculously walked out of her office following a huge explosion.
Jimmy Hurdstrom was still alive after he took another fall from a horse, meaning all of the fan-favourite characters pulled through.
Yet it has still not been made clear who was behind the series of assassination attempts on the family.
Some of the cast got together to discuss the continuing storyline and the official Yellowstone Instagram account shared the video.
Actor White is heard saying who he feels could be responsible for trying to end the Dutton ranch.
He said: “The Duttons have a lot of enemies and especially at the end of season three, over the course of three seasons they have made a lot of enemies.
“My first thought was that it’s like a simultaneous organised attack.
“The Duttons by this point have a lot of bodies on their hands. So in season two the Duttons effectively executed the Beck brothers.
“We don’t know who that pissed off. There was a simultaneous full-scale assault on the ranch.”
With this in mind, it seems the actor has a hunch the notorious antagonists, the Beck brothers, may have a part to play in the attacks.
Malcolm (Neal McDonough) and Teal Beck (Terry Serpico) have been named as potential suspects by fans for a long time.
Despite the characters seemingly getting their comeuppance, many viewers are convinced they could still be alive.
Even if they are really dead, they could have had allies who knew of their run-ins with the Duttons.
It would therefore be entirely feasible for the brothers’ allies to attack the ranch.
Fans have taken to Reddit to discuss the idea that Malcolm Beck could still be alive and be responsible for the attacks.
Primary_Things3698 said: “So I have to say season 2 of Yellowstone was by far my favorite, I really liked Malcolm becks character and I think he was a great villain.
“At the end of season 2 when the duttons go hunting for beck and get into that shootout, John Dutton shoots Malcolm and he is heavily wounded and appears to be dying.
“But we don’t actually see him die on screen, could it be possible that he actually survived and that he was the one behind the assasination attempt on John Dutton at the end of season 3 as revenge for the death of his brother?
“This is probably very far fetched, but I think it’s highly possible and would make a really good twist for season 4.” [Sic]
Wolfshadow1995 said: “Correct me if I’m wrong again, but others noticed the bomb that Duttons planted in the Beck brothers’ plane was never mentioned on the show again.
“This always seemed fishy to me. Wouldn’t be surprised if that somehow someway tied into the finale.”
It could be possible for the Duttons’ actions against the Beck brothers to come back and haunt them.
Hopefully, the mastermind will be revealed ahead of the season four finale.
Yellowstone airs on Sundays on The Paramount Network.
