If you were hoping for your usual Monday night dose of Coronation Street, then you’re set to be disappointed – as the show’s missing from its usual slot tonight.
That’s right, there’s no Corrie tonight – and it’s not the first time the soap’s been shunted from the airwaves this week.
So just what’s going on – and when are we getting our visits to Weatherfield back?
Here’s what you need to know…
Why is Coronation Street not on tonight?
There’s a pretty simple explanation as to why Corrie isn’t on tonight – as the show’s taking a back seat to the UEFA Championship qualifier matches.
The past week has already seen the soap give way to England’s Euro 2020 qualifer against Czech Republic, while Monday night sees them take on Bulgaria at Vasil Levski National Stadium in Sofia, in their bid to win a place in next year’s tournament.
Live coverage of the game begins on ITV at 7pm ahead of the match kicking off at 7.45pm – and runs until 10pm.
That means that not only has Corrie been booted from the schedules but Emmerdale is also off the air on Monday night.
Not a good night for soap fans then – but fingers crossed for a better night for England, who suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Czech team on Friday.
When is Coronation Street back?
The good news is that the show won’t be off air for much longer as it’s back on ITV on Wednesday night at 7.30pm.
Fans are getting a double bill of episodes on Wednesday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm, as well as double bills next Monday (21 October) and Wednesday (23 October).
There’s also an hour-long episode set to air this Friday at 7.30pm.
Emmerdale’s also back on the air on Tuesday with an hour-long instalment at the usual time of 7pm.
