What was Lil Keed's cause of death?

Lil Keed died of natural causes as a result of eosinophilia, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner ruled.

The rare condition results in sufferers having a "higher than normal level" of eosinophils – a type of white blood cell – in the body.

According to the Mayo Clinic, "this condition most often indicates a parasitic infection, an allergic reaction or cancer."

People reported that the coroner's report could not determine the underlying cause of the condition.

Lil Keed died in a Burbank hospital after being admitted for "stomach and back pains" on May 13, 2022.

He is said to have complained to pals about the symptoms in the days before his untimely death, TMZ reported.

The artist "had been sick in bed for four days" due to his discomfort, the medical report stated.

The rapper's brother, Lil Gotit, had "noted that [his] eyes were jaundiced and drove him to the hospital in a private vehicle."

En route to the medical facility, Lil Keed suffered from a seizure seeing him become unresponsive. He then passed away in hospital at 10.14pm that evening.

The budding star had been in hospital last year for stomach pain,  but "he left against medical advice and did not seek follow-up care."

The coroner noted that Lil Keed regularly consumed alcohol and smoked from a vape pen.

According to his family, he was not a drug user and did not have any unrelated medical conditions.

The rapper's brother, Lil Gotit, confirmed his death in an Instagram story in which he tagged Lil Keed and wrote the message: “Why bro, why u leave me bro,” followed by lots of crying emojis.

He then posted another picture of Lil Keed on his feed, confirming his passing.

Breaking the devastating news to his followers, he wrote: "Can’t believe I seened u die today bro I did all my cries I know what u want me to do and that’s go hard for Mama Daddy Our Brothers Naychur and Whiteboy."

Quana Bandz, Lil Keed's girlfriend and mother of his daughter Naychur, said: "I love you sooooo much baby what I'm post to do with out you I can't breathe right sleep right nothing I don't even wanna talk to nobody Keed I can't take this."

Rapper Taylor Bennett paid tribute to Lil Keed in an Instagram post, saying: "I want us all to pay respect. It's hard to give flowers when people are alive and I'm guilty.

"Keed you are the new sound of music surpassing hip hop and all genres."

Artist Lil CeeKay also took to Instagram to pay tribute, calling him "an incredible father."
