Who is Kate Garraway's husband Derek Draper?
Derek Draper, 52, is a PR and former political adviser from Chorley, Lancashire.
He was a political aide to former Labour cabinet minister Peter Mandelson, and was at the centre of the scandal known as "Lobbygate" in 1998.
Following this, he retrained as a psychotherapist and spent three years in California obtaining his degree.
In the late 90s, he worked as the Political Editor of the Modern Review, was briefly a columnist for the Daily Express and presented on Talk Radio UK.
In 2009 he became the founder and editor of the blog LabourList.
But he stepped down as editor after another scandal involving leaked emails.
The messages sent to him by Gordon Brown's special adviser, Damian McBride, proposed using the blog to smear senior Conservative MPs and their spouses.
After 35 years, Draper decided to revoke his membership with the Labour Party on August 23, 2019.
He is a published author and has written books such as Blair's 100 Days and Life Support.
He has a new book called The Psychology of Everyday Life: 50 Bite-Size Insights for Thriving in the Modern World, which is set to be released in June 2020.
How long has Derek been in hospital for?
Kate's husband Derek was taken into hospital on April 1, 2020, where he tested positive for Covid-19, and still remains in intensive care.
On April 16, Kate revealed on her Instagram account that Derek was still in a "deeply critical condition".
She said: "From the bottom of my heart a billion thank yous to the extraordinary NHS workers whose skills, dedication and downright guts in the face of so much personal risk are keeping my Derek alive, just as they are doing for thousands of covid patients.
"I'm afraid he is still in a deeply critical condition, but he is still here, which means there is hope."
On May 1, Kate revealed that he is still "unresponsive" to her when she speaks to him every night as he continues to battle coronavirus in intensive care.
On May 7, Kate shared an update on her Instagram account that said: "Derek is still with us, fighting so hard to beat this virus & everyday I am awestruck by how hard every member of the nhs team is fighting to turn things around & bring him ( & so many others) home to their loved ones.
"You are amazing – thank you thank you Sending love to you all in these terrible times."
On May 9, Kate revealed she had been given a boost by a fan who's husband was also seriously ill from coronavirus and recovered.
Ben Shephard revealed on May 15 that Derek was still in a coma.
On May 18, her GMB co-star Piers Morgan revealed that Kate had been going through a "living hell", with her husband still in a "serious condition" after seven weeks.
On May 21, Kate told fans her "heart sinks" every day as the coronavirus comes up with "new battles" for Derek to fight.

Kate Garraway married Derek Draper in 2005 in Camden, London.
Garraway was previously married to former Meridian boss Ian Rumsey from 1998 to 2002.
The Good Morning Britain host has spoken candidly about her sex life and says it's better in her 50s than it was in her 20s.
