Anne Hegerty received a book of messages from autistic fans in a heartwrenching moment.
On her exiting the jungle, as show on I’m A Celebrity: The Coming Out Show, she met with Rita Simons, who gave her a book with messages from those who felt close to her, or at least felt she had made an impact on them.
The touching moment moved fans as they watched Anne well up as she is handed the book.
Rita said on Lorraine: "Purely beacuse of the journey she’s been on, I love Anne. She’s adorable."
Back in Australia, sitting opposite Anne with some cocktails, Rita held up the booklet and said: "Thank you Anne, from autistic people and their families.
"And it is full of messages, look at this, do you want to have a read?
"Look how many are in there, Anne. People have just been dying for someone to come out and talk about autism on a massive scale like this."
Anne was practically speechless when she saw the book, as she exclaimed, "oh my God," before asking about how it was made.
She said to Rita: "Oh my god. How many pages are there?
"This must have taken so much work, how fabulous."
Fans were totally touched by the moment, with one saying: "Rita presenting @ anne_hegerty with her @ Autism book was TV moment of the year. Just beautiful # ImACeleb"
Another said: "Anne is such a sweetheart she is an inspiration woman to people who have autism specially to my nephew who has autism # imaceleb"
