The Walking Dead: Negan and Maggie reunion teased in table read
Season ten of The Walking Dead was cut short last year by the outbreak of coronavirus. Thankfully, fans’ patience will be rewarded by a series of bonus episodes, followed up by the AMC series’ eleventh season and several upcoming spin-offs. A first-look teaser trailer has just revealed an exciting new addition joining the cast next month.

A new trailer for The Walking Dead’s tenth season has given fans their first look at the six additional episodes heading to screens from February through March.
The surprise instalment to the ongoing zombie series was confirmed ahead of the release of what would have been last year’s season finale, A Certain Doom.
Six bonus chapters are set to pick up the pieces after Daryl Dixon (played by Norman Reedus) and the rest of the Hilltop survivors faced off against the formidable Whisperers.
Casting announcements last year also confirmed the extended season will reveal the hidden backstory behind one of TWD’s most iconic villains, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

One Tree Hill star Hilarie Burton Morgan, the real life wife of Negan himself Jeffrey Dean Morgan, will also be portraying the ruthless leader’s dead other half, Lucille.
Now somewhat reformed and joining the fight alongside Hilltop, Negan was initially introduced at the end of season six as the cultish leader of the Saviours.
Throughout the seventh and eight instalments of the series, Negan terrorised Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his crew, armed with a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire, named after his late wife.
The last leg of season ten will presumably reveal how Negan’s wife met her demise, sending her husband spiralling into madness and cruelty to become the vile villain we met in the notorious season six finale.
Setting up the themes for the upcoming portion of TWD’s penultimate season, Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) provides the trailer with an optimistic voice over.
The preacher assures his fellow survivors, and the audience, “there’s still goodness, we just have to look for it.”
Additionally, a synopsis for the last section of season ten sets up the characters “trying to pick themselves up by their bootstraps following the destruction the Whisperers left in their wake.
“The years of struggle weigh upon them as past traumas surface, exposing their more vulnerable sides.”

Also joining the cast is Scorpions star and the T-1000 himself, Robert Patrick, as Mays, a new character not introduced in Robert Kirkman’s comic book series.
Plus, supporting star Okea Eme-Akwari from Netflix’s continuation of Cobra Kai was also revealed as Elijah, the masked man introduced alongside returning regular Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan).
As the hype for The Walking Dead’s continuation builds, AMC have been revealing plenty of new tidbits from the upcoming surprise additions to season ten.
A recent post on Instagram showcased Maggie’s new look after the fan favourite was absent throughout most of last year.
Following extensive COVID delays, viewers will be pleased to know they won’t have to wait much longer for the rest of season ten and, indeed, season eleven.
The bumper 24-episode last hurrah will begin airing later this year and conclude in 2022.
Moreover, The Walking Dead will still refuse to die as multiple spin-offs, including an upcoming series centred on Daryl and Carol (Melissa McBride), are also in the works.
The Walking Dead season 10 returns Sunday, February 28 on AMC.
