The Savoy guest who spends £1,500 a night makes request for butterfly milk
15th October 2020

A woman who spent £1,500 a night at The Savoy Hotel made a bizarre request that her morning coffee was served with butterfly milk.

Regular Alice Evans has been visiting the central London hotel for the past 10 years and has built up a close relationship with the staff members.

The mum-of-four told how she stays at The Savoy four times a year as a getaway from her children, and always requests a butler service.

When being shown to her room, Alice was asked by one of the butlers if she had any special requests, to which she replied: ‘Can I get some butterfly milk, it’s all I’m drinking at the moment.’

Specifically, she wanted Red Admiral butterfly milk.

We are not entirely sure if she was being serious or not, but either way, in true five-star service, the hotel arranged for Mrs Evans to have the milk she requested.

When she was brought her milk by her butler, she just laughed.

Taking to Twitter afterwards, viewers were just as baffled by the bizarre request, with many questioning: ‘It is a thing?’

‘Butterfly milk’ is that a thing,’ one commented.

Another tweeted: ‘What is butterfly milk?’

While one added: ‘Can you get me some butterfly milk as its all I’m drinking at the moment..’

For those of you wondering, there is such a thing as butterfly pea milk (originated from Thailand) which you can make at home.

There is also such a thing called butterfly milk latte powder.

If you ever wanted to try it…
