GMB: Susanna and Lorraine discuss ‘spooky’ tech issues
Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid and new co-star Martin Lewis were gearing up to speak to a cyber expert about scams as well as Russian involvement when the connection failed.
Finance expert Martin had just addressed interference from organisations in scams, which Lindy Cameron, CEO of the National Cyber Security Centre, was set to detail in her interview.
Martin had already explained the sinister nature of such swindles and expressed the dangers of Russian sympathisers using such techniques.
So when the interview failed to connect properly in a technical blunder on the show, Susanna was concerned by the timely coincidence.
As Martin introduced Lindy, it seemed she was unable to hear or respond.
Gasping, Susanna asked if something had interfered with the connection following their conversation.
“That is spooky,” she announced, appearing concerned and emphasising the strange timing.
The chat was postponed as the issues were sorted, and when the presenters were back on screens, Susanna was still alarmed.

“We are going to go back in a moment to the CRO of the National Cyber Security Centre,” she explained.
The presenter went on: “Once we’ve worked out what jammed her WiFi and stopped her talking to us…”
Glaring at the camera, she added: “Russian bots,” while Martin cut in.
“Apparently, it was just a problem with the WiFi at the centre she’s in,” Martin clarified before adding: “That’s the information we’ve been given and that’s all we can know.”
“Let’s hope the lines for the studio next door are clear and working and not disrupted!” Susanna added as Lorraine Kelly appeared to preview her upcoming show.
“I hope so,” the Scottish presenter remarked before adding: “That’s a bit spooky, isn’t it?”
“I know! Isn’t it?” Susanna replied. She continued: “It’s hard not to be a conspiracy theorist about that kind of thing, isn’t it?”
“Absolutely, I shall be watching that with great interest,” Lorraine answered.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
