GMB: Susanna Reid comments on Nella Rose’s IAC arguments
Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid has broken her silence following calls for her co-presenter Richard Madeley to be “sacked” from the ITV show.
Susanna, 52, stood up and supported Richard while claiming he was a “legend”. The pair often present the ITV breakfast show which airs from 6am until 9am on weekdays, where they discuss news and current affairs.
During a recent appearance on GMB, Richard left viewers enraged after he asked a proactive question when discussing the conflict in the Middle East.
Fans were sent into meltdown and at the time, called for the 67-year-old to be “sacked” from the show.
However, in a new interview, Susanna stood up for Richard and said he brings “so much to the programme, including a really loyal audience”.

In an interview with The Sun she said: “Richard Madeley is a legend in broadcasting. He’s the founder of This Morning.
“He’s been doing it longer than any of us and he’s got a particular way with politicians.”
Referencing his infamous interview with the former defence secretary she added: “If they don’t want to answer the questions, he’ll end the interview – he did it with Gavin Williamson”.
Richard who is known for his strong choice of words has been the face of ITV since the 80’s. In 1988 he presented This Morning alongside his wife Judy until 2001. Then they went on to have their own chat show Richard and Judy until 2009.

Susanna continued to fiercely defend the broadcaster and said: “Richard is a bit bolder sometimes with his wording, but I think a lot of viewers wonder why other people get offended by what he’s said. Layla Moran dealt with that with enormous grace and she wasn’t offended.
“When she was asked about it subsequently, she said it was a total distraction from the real issue.”
During a recent instalment of GMB, the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas was being discussed and Richard sparked outrage with a comment he made.
Richard mentioned that he had read an opinion piece over the weekend before asking his co-stars a provocative question.
His comment and question resulted in some Good Morning Britain viewers mistaking them for his personal beliefs.
They believed Richard was expressing his own opinion regarding the conflict and comparing attacks on Palestine to Nazi Germany. Richard has strongly denied this.
Discussing the war on GMB, Richard said: “I read in many of the Sunday papers yesterday parallels with the Second World War.
“Not just the holocaust, but with what the Allies, the Americans, the British, the free French did when they invaded Europe in 1944 and defeated the Nazis by going into Germany.
“In doing so, by going into Germany, quite apart from the bombing campaigns that the RAF and the American Air Force launched, a lot of German civilians were killed.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
