On the latest instalment of Sunday Brunch, viewers saw presenters Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer welcome Lucy Beaumont, Phil Dunster, Edith Bowman, Daniel Mays and Greg James and band All Time Low onto the show. However, Lucy’s slip of the tongue landed her in trouble with the hosts.

During part two of the show, Simon was showing viewers how to cook ham and gruyère cheese croquettes while Tim spoke to the panel of celebrities.

After discussing Greg James’ charity cycle for Red Nose Day a few years ago, the Sunday Brunch host questioned comedian Lucy Beaumount.

Asking the actress what she does for fitness and hobbies, Lucy joked that she just stresses out about them.

Admitting to living in a constant anxious state, the 39-year-old said: “Apparently that’s quite good-“

Tim interjected: “It’s good for the metabolism?”

Lucy replied: “Oh it is yeah, it all goes right through me, to be honest.

“This is why I come on this show because we have a lot of breaks, don’t we? And I’ll be p***ed soon won’t I?”

As she said the explicit word, a groan could be heard from the production crew behind the camera, indicating she wasn’t supposed to say that.

Realising her blunder, Lucy quickly apologised as she explained her comment was because they sometimes have alcoholic beverages on the show.

Despite Simon trying to carry on with the food demonstration, Tim asked: “Lucy, did you say a bad word?”

Sheepishly, she replied: “Sorry! I’m not sure. To be honest, I’m really worried because I was a bit insulting about the mug and I’ve been worried about it.

“I didn’t mean to, I do want it.”

Reassuring their guest Tim replied: “No we’re fine, it was funny, it was nice but if you did say a bad word, I apologise (to the viewers).

“I don’t know whether she did or didn’t but if she did then we apologise.”

Greg James joked he wasn’t aware the show was being filmed live as Lucy blamed the blunder on a recent holiday.

She commenced: “I’ve been in Tenerife all week, I got back yesterday.”

Simon asked: “That’s a side effect of going to Tenerife, potty mouth?”

Lucy agreed before apologising once again to viewers for her use of the word before watershed.

The actress’s response to being worried over insulting the presenters about the mug comes after she rejected their offer to give her a new one.

After accidentally breaking her husband Jon Richardson’s silver one he got from the show, Tim and Simon offered to replace it.

Although she didn’t seem keen on the idea as she said: “We’ve got so many mugs though.”

Shocked at the rejection, Tim shouted to the panel: “She’s turning it down?!”

However, in the end, Lucy decided to take the mug to replace the one she’d accidentally broken.
