Strictly Come Dancing release trailer for new series

Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas has teased there are exciting things to expect for the launch show.

On Saturday night, the 15 celebrities taking part in this year’s series will be matched with their professional partners, who they’ll remain with for the rest of the competition.

However, viewers of the long-running BBC show will also get to see judges Craig Revel-Horwood, Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas take to the dancefloor.

The four will be part of the opening number this year as Craig revealed they’re all going against one another.

Speaking about the big routine, Shirley teased it’s going to be spectacular.

She said: “The audience is in for a real treat, my dance shoes are back out and it feels amazing!

“I’ve been put through my paces, but to be dancing with my fellow Judges and the professional dancers is a feeling like no other.”

Echoing her enthusiasm, Craig Revel-Horwood revealed he’s tackling a move he’s not done before.

He added: “Well, it’s very exciting. So I’m doing an assisted backward walk over darling, which I’ve never done before.

“It’s when you drop into two boys’ arms, flip over and land hopefully on your feet, so that’ll be good fun!

“It’s really stylized, I really love the music and it’s a compilation and it’s all four Judges going up against each other!”

Some of the stars competing this year include Adam Thomas, Angela Rippon, Nigel Harman and Bobby Brazier.

Ahead of the launch show, which was pre-recorded earlier month, Love Island star Zara McDermott had nothing but praise to say about her partner.

Not revealing who she’ll be dancing with, she teased: “He is amazing! He’s so nice, the training is tougher than I thought it would be.

“It’s all about the technicalities, it’s the arms, the legs, the feet. All those things that you have to put together in your head all at once.

“But, it’s an amazing experience.”
