Sara Davies has confessed she was “distraught” to see best pal Judi Love leave Strictly Come Dancing on Halloween weekend.
The Dragon’s Den star appeared on BBC Breakfast with her professional partner Aljaz Skorjanec and the pair made sure to make an entrance on the hit morning show.
Fellow contestant and TV presenter Dan Walker welcomed them on the show on Monday morning and was surprised to see the pair in graphic T-shirts which said "We [heart emoji] Dan Walker" on the front.
Shocked at their attire, both Dan and his co-presenter Sally Nugent couldn’t contain their laughter as Sara and Aljaz performed a segmentk from his Halloween dance routine where he portrayed a lobster.
The 37-year-old businesswoman couldn’t help but discuss her sadness that the Loose Women panellist had left the hit BBC dance competition over the weekend after the larger-than-life presenter made an epic return when she recovered from Covid-19 last week.
Dan explained the joys of performing on Strictly with the star-studded cast and how the group celebrated the end of the weekend each night at their secret hotel club.
He told listeners: “When Sally came to watch on the weekend, I was explaining to her about this hotel club that we have.
“Because there’s a few of us that stay on a Friday night in the same hotel. Myself, Sara – Ugo was there, we had Judi, AJ pops in every now and then and Adam.
“And Judi was a founding member of the hotel club," he explained.
“And sadly, we all know that somebody has to leave each week but she has been such a bundle of fun and laughs, hasn’t she? The whole time on the programme.”
Sara replied: “Do you know what, the close-knit group that we’ve got is unreal.
“And Judi was such an essential part of that and I was so pleased Dan that she got to come back and do that dance.
“And I know she’d been struggling all week – it just gave her that little bit of closure, but I was distraught to see her and Adam in the bottom two.
She added: “I was like, ‘Do you know what, I can’t win either way – either way one of my best friends is going home and it’s just not going to be the same this week’.”
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One
