Strictly: Ellie says she struggled with waltz
Ellie Leach “really struggled” during last week’s Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals.
Appearing on Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two, the Coronation Street star reflected on the past week.
Describing her last dance, she explained: “The spinning of the Viennese waltz really caught me off guard.
“And then spinning in hold and coming out of that and spinning some more… I did actually really struggle.”
Ellie’s dance partner Vito Coppola went on to praise her for her performance on Saturday night.

He told It Takes Two host Fleur East: “Honestly, she surprises every single week.
“In the rehearsal, she does good, when we try it’s OK, and then the night of the show, something happens.
“And it’s like, ‘This is not the same Ellie I’ve been practising with all week’.
“And the spin comes and the frame comes and she’s moving and everything is so precise and it’s like, ‘OK Ellie, OK’.”

“I feel like… I don’t know where it comes from,” the actress admitted.
“In rehearsal, I genuinely feel like I’m struggling.
“And then I get on that dance floor and I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m doing it’.
“It’s so weird, it’s like the weirdest feeling ever.”
“Well, you are doing it,” Fleur assured her. “You’re definitely doing it and then some.”
As she reflected on Craig Revel Horwood’s small criticism regarding her arm placement, Ellie went on: “The judges want to help us, so it’s important that we listen to every single thing that they’re saying.”
