Ann Widdecombe has revealed why she will never do I’m A Celebrity ahead of her return to Strictly Come Dancing.
The former MP will be on the Strictly Christmas special alongside her former dance partner when she was in the show eight years ago, Anton Du Beke.
But there is another show she will never do in the spectrum of reality TV, and there’s one big reason for it – an incredibly debilitating fear of heights, which would mean she would struggle to even walk across the bridge.
Speaking to ITV’s Lorraine Kelly, she said: "I thought about the jungle from time to time, but the problem I have a huge, huge height phobia."
Lorraine suggested it would mean viewers would try to force her to do all the height trials, to which she replied: "I wouldn’t do them!
"They wouldn’t ask me to parachute, that’s nonsense at my age, but they’d expect me to walk over that bridge and eating all those horrible things."
However, Ann hasn’t ruled out doing another Strictly tour or any other reality show, but there is someone else she would be dancing with other than Anton.
Ann continued: "It just depends what comes along, I respond as and when I get the call.
"I wouldn’t mind doing the Strictly tour again – I danced with Craig Revel Horwood when I did the tour – he threw me about even more roughly because he’s bigger.
"He’s built on a much bigger scale [than Anton] and just using his normal sort of force he had me on the other side of the room.
"I love dancing with Craig and that’s why he started my panto career!"
Anton looked like he was seething with jealousy at Ann’s jaunts with Craig, especially as Ann admitted the pair don’t really "dance," but "create" in the rehearsal room.
She joked: "We never dance! We mess about, you’ve never called it dancing in your life."
Anton quickly replied: "I tried to but you wouldn’t let me! It was creating… creating a number."
They joked that Anton uses Ann as a "prop" he liked to "fling" around, but Anton reckons there’s another politician who he could turn into the perfect dancer – Theresa May.
"She’s got some moves," Anton joked.
"I’m sure we could do something with her, pop her in a nice frock for a start. A bit of glitter. Do something with her hair, maybe a back comb?"
Perhaps she will follow in the footsteps of Widdy and Ed Balls for an upcoming series?
Lorraine airs weekdays at 8.30am on ITV and the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special airs at 5.30pm on BBC1.
