Last Sunday saw former X Factor star Fleur East and comedian Ellie Taylor go head-to-head to try and impress the judges after landing in the dance-off against one another. Despite impressive efforts from both, it was Fleur who sailed through to the next week. However, as this is the third time Fleur has had to re-do her performance to stay in the competition, viewers have been left outraged.

With the final of the BBC dance show right around the corner, the competition is amping up as the remaining stars do all they can to impress the public.

Last Saturday, the six celebrities took to the dancefloor to try and earn a spot in next week’s quarter-final.

Despite scoring an impressive 35 out of a possible 40, Fleur and her professional partner Vito Coppola found themselves in the bottom two for the third time this series.

However, when it was revealed the former X-Factor star was at risk of going home once again, viewers were less than pleased.

Taking to social media to share their outrage, many are slamming the competition for being “rigged” as a fix row erupted.

Twitter user @AliCM said: “Really wondering what’s wrong with the public voters. Fleur shouldn’t have been in the dance-off. Sick of seeing it. I will miss Johannes and Ellie though.”

While @Maid_jilly commented: “This is why I stopped watching this series weeks ago Fleur in the dance-off again IT IS SO RIGGED.”

Elsewhere, @Tamsin6 added: “Fleur in the bottom two, honestly don’t understand the voting public.”

Twitter user @Marcwhit1 swiped: “Why is Fleur in the dance-off again? The voting is a joke.”

“Oh I adored fleur and Vito’s rumba, so gutted they were in the dance-off,” added @Abbygsx.

With @ClairClair211 commenting: “Fleur in the dance off again, wow [sic]unbelievable #Strictly.”

Each week, the BBC bases who lands in the dance-off based on the judges’ scores and the results of the public vote, however.

When it come to the dance-off, fans watched as Ellie re-did her Jive to Brown Eyed Girl while Fleur and Vito performed their Rumba to Too Lost in You.

In the end, the judges decided to save Fleur as head judge Shirley Ballas commented that despite both celebrities dancing exceptionally it came down to technical qualities.

Despite the 35-year-old finding herself in the bottom two on a few occasions, she’s the only contestant that has been given the first perfect score of the series.

During the Blackpool spectacular week, Fleur and Vito were given 40 by the four judges after their couple’s choice to a Destiny’s Child megamix.

However, they seemed to drop slightly lower last weekend, putting them third on the current leaderboard alongside Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu.

At the top with a score of 38 is actor Will Mellor and his Strictly pro Nancy Xu who did an impressive Charleston.

Following close behind are wildlife cameraman Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal who were given a total of 37 for their routine.

On the other end of the scale were Ellie Taylor and Johannes Radebe who were awarded 25 for their performance.

Strictly Come Dancing returns Friday on BBC One at 8pm.
