Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) will be feeling the guilt in upcoming episodes as she’ll reveal she left Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) to die in the house fire in EastEnders.
After a confrontation, Shirley will attack Phil with a baseball bat.
Knocking him unconscious, Shirley will panic and leave Phil.
Later on, as people fail to notice Scarlett’s jumper land on the lit hob, flames start to rise.
We pick up the drama in a new week and Janine (Charlie Brooks) finds Scarlett and Tommy in Tommy’s bedroom.
Quickly becoming trapped inside, Janine, Tommy and Scarlett desperately try to escape when they realise the house is on fire.
Meanwhile, downstairs, Phil is unconscious still.
He wakes up, struggling to breathe.
In the aftermath, Shirley’s guilt increases and eventually comes clean to Mick (Danny Dyer) about hitting Phil.
Could Shirley face a prison sentence if the truth comes out?
If Phil doesn’t make it out of the fire alive, could Shirley potentially face a murder charge?
